From Grade 6, DISDH pupils learn French, which they can take up until Abitur level. There are also plenty of opportunities to practice the language too, with regular projects and activities with the French School in The Hague. Our pupils consequently achieve a high standard of French, the most important official working language in the European Union alongside German and English. Participation in competitions such as FrancoMusiques increases our pupils' enthusiasm for the language. To take part, they compose a song with French lyrics and then record their music for the competition. We offer our pupils other interesting ways to perfect their French. They can take part in the MFNU, the French-speaking Model United Nations in The Hague or obtain the DELF certificate (Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue Française), which qualifies them to study at universities in France.
