Current CoViD-19 regulations at DISDH

The generally known hygiene rules apply to all pupils and adults:

  • Regular hand washing
  • No shaking hands
  • Sneeze and cough into the crook of your arm or handkerchief, not into your hand.
  • Do not touch your face with your hands
  • Do not attend school if you have symptoms
  • Make decisions according to the “decision tree” (see attachment)

General policies:

  • All adults (educators, teachers, staff, visitors) wear a mouth-nose covering (MNB) on the school premises for the time being. This can be taken off at the workplace.
  • The compulsory wearing of masks (from grade 5) at school is limited to wearing the MNB in the buildings, in the hallways, in the Mensa/Cafeteria, the library and in the classrooms, as long as the seat has NOT been taken. The mask may be taken off at the seat.
  • The MNB must be worn during lessons in the hallways (groups or individual work). Wearing a mask in the school building following the same model is recommended for Primary School
  • All adults (educators, teachers, staff, visitors) keep 1.5 metres distance from each other, regardless of vaccination status.
  • Adults keep 1.5 metres distance from pupils in grades 5-12.
  • Kindergarten children, preschool children and pupils among themselves do not have to keep a distance.
  • Quarantine is done according to Dutch guidelines - fully vaccinated/immunised and fully recovered (not longer than 6 months) do NOT have to be quarantined if they come into contact with an infected person. This rule does NOT apply if symptoms occur or test positive.
  • If children or their contacts show symptoms/complaints, they should get tested and not attend school/kindergarten.
  • If CoViD-19 is proven, children and students remain at home.
  • We recommend self-testing for all pupils from grade 7 onwards who do not yet have full vaccination protection.
  • Testing in lower grades from age 4 onwards can be done if a positive test result occurs in the learning group.
  • Afternoon care is offered in its full extent Mon - Fri until 6.00 pm.
  • Mixing of the individual classes of the Primary School is avoided as far as possible, but cannot be excluded.
  • The work groups, including those offered by external providers, are expected to take place from 20 September. You will receive separate information about this.
  • Persons from outside the school have permission to enter the school after prior notification or by invitation, provided that the distance and mask regulations are observed (AG leaders, parent meetings, parent evenings, etc.). This does not apply to bringing and picking up children.
  • The "one-way traffic" in the school building will continue to be practiced. This indicates clear mandatory walking routes in the school building.
  • The school has a modern ventilation system. During the summer holidays, all maintenance work on the modern ventilation system was carried out according to plan. Finally, air volume measurements and fine adjustments were carried out in all common rooms. The measurement results can be seen in the school. With its constant supply of fresh air, the ventilation system makes a decisive contribution to reducing the risk of transmitting viruses, including Covid-19. This is done simultaneously with a comfortable supply of oxygen and a reduction of the CO2 content in the indoor air.
  • In order not to disturb the ventilation system in this automatic regulation, the windows must remain closed. In the current school year 2021/22, the ventilation system will be monitored by various specialist companies and readjusted if necessary.
  • Food brought in or bought (e.g. bread rolls) is to be eaten outside or seated in the classroom. Eating in the hallways and on the stairs is not permitted.
  • In principle, the Mensa/Cafeteria will be open again. The following rules apply:
    • A distance of at least 1.5 metres must be kept from the staff.
    • The counter is equipped with screens, and the staff will wear a MNB during the serving of food.
    • The ventilation system will be turned up. In addition, more fresh air will be provided through open windows (the cafeteria is disconnected from the ventilation of the classrooms).
    • Cash payments are possible again.
    • Sandwiches will be provided in separate bags.
