Museum Theatre, Literature – Primary School Students on Tour

Our grade 4 students have experienced a great week of culture in The Hague!

At the Escher-Museum, the children enjoyed an educational guided tour followed by an excellent workshop in which they discovered if they too perhaps have a bit of Escher in them. Escher’s metamorphosis is no longer a mystery to the art enthusiasts in grade 4.

Thanks to preparation during Dutch lessons, the play “Zwijnenstal” based on Orwell’s “Animal Farm” performed by a troupe of professional actors at the Theatre aan het Spui was well enjoyed by grade 4 students.
After enjoying the play, our amateur actors and actress were certainly motivated to put their skills to the test with their presentation of the St. Martin play performed at the Catholic German Community Centre.

To round out a week of cultural highlights, the students also took part in the national Read Aloud Day. Special thanks go out to our grade 9 students for reading aloud to our Primary School children.

The busy schedule of special events in Primary School is instrumental in promoting cultural awareness. Further, common outings and shared experience help to strengthen the class community. We are already looking forward to many more excursions and adventures.
