Grade four's Charity Campaign

On World Children's Day in September and as part of their social science classes, DISDH fourth-graders prepared a great exhibition in the school’s entrance hall on children's rights. While preparing the exhibition, the students decided to collect donations for the organisations "War Child" and "Plan International". Coin by coin with a mixture of joy and excitement until the result of the donation was finally determined. Close to 400 € were collected. Great! But which project did our fourth graders choose to support? Together, they finally decided to donate to two causes:

1. Young people in Bolivia receive financial support for buying a goat so they can actively contribute to the family's income, e.g. by producing goat cheese.
2. A family beekeeping company in Zambia also receives part of the collected donations, so that on the one hand, delicious honey can be produced and on the other hand, a gesture to address the problem of worldwide bee mortality.

In the meantime, both organisations have expressed their particular thanks to the students for their great commitment. As a memory of this special project, the children received donation certificates. Many thanks to all donors and especially to our fourth graders!
