DISDH hosts "Austria reads"

Let’s introduce our favourite Austrian book!

This was the theme of the reading evening staged for young and old which took place in the DISDH library on Thursday 5 October. The goal of the event was to attract visitors to the world of Austrian literature.

We are delighted that after seven years we once again participated in this wonderful Austrian world-wide campaign and are proud of the large number of participating readers who joined in. The youngest reader was a pupil from grade 2 and a total of 8 students from our Primary and Secondary schools participated in the festival. The variety of the selected literature was impressive, particularly among the adult readers who were recruited from amongst the school’s Austrian parents and friends, two German teachers and the extended German-speaking cultural community. It was a special event for all participants. Many thanks to the team of volunteer DISDH library workers who were instrumental in organising the event.

The actual “Österreich liest” (“Austria reads”) festival takes place from 16 to 22 October 2017. During this week, Austrian libraries offer a varied and attractive programme.
