German as a Foreign Language
Your child can't speak German, or only has a limited knowledge of the language? Whatever their level, we welcome all children to DISDH! Our "German as a Foreign Language" (DaF) programme ensures your child learns the German language quickly and easily, and soon reaches the level of a native speaker.

We offer non-native speaking pupils special language support from Kindergarten to Grade 12. They have two extra hours of German tuition a week, and work in small groups, in a relaxed atmosphere. We study interesting topics from all over the world, practice grammar and encourage our pupils to learn from and with each other. Our youngest pupils are taught with entertaining, age-appropriate methods and materials. The play-based form of teaching, involving singing, playing games and making things, encourages their interest in the new language.

Children without previous knowledge need additional support beyond the two extra hours teaching a week. DISDH organises supplementary German lessons. They are taught by a pool of specially trained teachers according to their individual learning pace.
