Writing like the monks

Step by step - the students set out on foot and as the day continued, they found themselves coming closer and closer to the ways of the past. After many stairs were climbed up to the storage of the museum, the gates of the medieval scriptorium opened.

The music of chanting monks filled the room and candlelight illuminated the space. It was now time to write like the monks. But first, the pupils had to put on a cowl before making their way to the consoles. With a genuine quill, the students learned calligraphy and wrote their names on sheets - using different colour inks. Not an easy task and hard to believe what treasures people of that time were able to design.
